Tagline: Yule crack up.

It’s Christmastime, and the Griswolds are preparing for a family seasonal celebration. But things never run smoothly for Clark, his wife Ellen, and their two kids. Clark’s continual bad luck is worsened by his obnoxious family guests, but he manages to keep going, knowing that his Christmas bonus is due soon.

As Christmas draws near, Clark Griswold (played by Chevy Chase) is determined to have the best Christmas ever with his family. As a result, he is constantly nagging his wife Ellen (played by Beverly D’Angelo) and their children in an effort to ensure that everything is in order, including the Christmas tree and the decorations for the house.

Nevertheless, things swiftly turn for the worst. His country cousin Eddie, played by Randy Quaid, and his family make an unannounced visit and set up residence in a camper on the Griswold family’s land. To make matters even worse, Clark’s employers fail to provide him with the necessary Christmas bonus.
