Vacation is a "must see" movie for the family to watch together, especially after going on a family road -trip. No matter how many times you see it, you find something new that you had missed previously, and even if you know what is going to happen, you can't help but laugh all the way through the movie. Vacation is about Clark Griswald, played hysterically by Chevy Chase, and his wife Ellen Griswald, played perfectly by Beverly D'Angelo, who decide to take a road-trip cross-country seeing the sights of America and reaching Wally World at the end of the trip. The adventures that they have on their trip, though exaggerated, will bring back memories of any family road trips one may have experienced, trying to take a vacation with kids that involves driving long periods of time. Their trying to get their children interested in the sights, getting off the wrong exit and ending up in a seedy neighborhood where, while asking directions, get their hubcaps stolen, stopping at a cousin's home, played hilariously by Randy Quaid, and ending up with Aunt Edna, played by Imogene Coca, joining them on their trip, and one mishap after another keeping the viewer laughing all the way until the end. A chance encounter with Christie Brinkley, leaves Clark in a sweat and almost causes him to have an accident on the road and the pool scene, with a naked Christie Brinkley was over the edge. A totally funny movie from beginning to end and recommended highly!

This is one of my favorite all-time comedies. Chevy chase is in his prime here. Hilarious scenes, some you will remember forever. Made in the 1980's when comedies were different than today. You could be more controversial and still be funny. This is the original Vacation that included many sequels. Some people like Christmas Vacation best, but to me you can't beat the original. Model Christie Brinkley costars and doesn't disappoint. Randu Quaid is hilarious in this. You could watch this movie a hundred times and still laugh every time. Go and see this movie today for some good laughs!
